At the end of the 2024 my friend, Dean Johanesen, messaged me about a project he was thinking of beginning on January 1st of 2025. He explained that it would be a project involving a group of likeminded songwriters prompted to create a new song every two weeks. I was eager to take part, I’d never tried anything like this before and was up for the challenge. Each songwriter submitted 3-4 song prompts for Dean to add to a hat a draw at random every other week. I am shocked that I’ve been able to come up with a song for all but one of the song prompts! Hey, nobody’s perfect 😍 Some of the songs were more challenging than others and some of the songs turned out pretty good. Anyway, I decided to post them all here on my website for your entertainment. To love or hate. Laugh at or embrace. This is what a rough version of a song sounds like before being edited into shape - here’s the raw lyricals, structures and keys. Some of these will likely end up on future recordings and it might be fun to compare the finished versions to the raw originals. Enjoy!!
